Common software problems we fix

iPhone software problems we see regularly in Bali include: iPhones stuck on the Apple logo after an iOS update gone wrong, phones stuck in recovery mode showing the iTunes logo and cable, phones that restart in a continuous loop, iPhones that freeze completely and do not respond to button presses, and phones where the setup assistant fails to complete after a factory reset.

Android software problems include boot loops showing the manufacturer logo repeatedly, phones frozen on the initial setup screen, Android system crashes that cause constant app closures, and Android update failures that leave the phone in an unusable state.

Why software problems happen

Most software failures on iPhones happen during or after an iOS update, especially when the update is interrupted by a dead battery, loss of internet connection, or insufficient storage. Android software problems are similar — interrupted updates, corrupted system partitions, or conflicts with third-party apps that crash core system processes.

The fix: DFU restore and clean setup

The most effective solution for most iOS software problems is a DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode restore via iTunes or Finder on a laptop. This completely reinstalls iOS while preserving your data if done correctly, or performs a clean wipe if needed. We carry a laptop with the latest iTunes and iOS firmware files.

For Android, we use recovery mode procedures appropriate to the manufacturer and model to clear cache partitions, repair system files, or perform factory resets with controlled data backup where possible.

Data before fixes

If your phone is accessible (you can get into it with your passcode), we always suggest backing up first before a restore. We can help you trigger an iCloud backup or Google backup before we perform any fix that might affect your data.

If the phone is inaccessible (frozen, boot loop), the fix may require a complete wipe. In that case we explain what will happen and what data will be lost before you agree to proceed.

The most affordable repair

At Rp 200.000, a software fix is the most affordable service we offer. If the software problem turns out to have a hardware cause (which does happen — a failing battery causing restart loops, for example), we diagnose this and quote the hardware repair separately before proceeding.
